Amin M Khan has over fourteen years experience working on research projects and enterprise applications in academia and industry. His research interests include high performance computing, distributed systems, cloud computing, big data, and machine learning.

Amin completed his Ph.D in Distributed Computing at the Department of Computer Architecture of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), BarcelonaTech and INESC-ID, IST, Universidade de Lisboa in June 2016. His Ph.D was funded by the EU’s Erasmus Mundus fellowship as part of joint doctorate in Distributed Computing (EMJD-DC) programme. He received his Masters degree in Informatics from University of Edinburgh and University of Trento in 2007. He graduated in Computer Software Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan in 2004.

Among his notable achievements, he has been awarded the Honour of Distinction by the President of Pakistan, the Award for Academic Excellence by Government of the Punjab, and Eramsus Mundus scholarship twice by the European Commission. He is a member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communications Society, and Pakistan Engineering Council, and is also involved with ACM-W Europe, Internet Society Pakistan Chapter, British Alumni Association Pakistan and Erasmus Mundus Alumni Association (EMA).
